The entryway is the first thing you and your guests see, and in many homes it is also the smallest space. With a few smart pieces it can hold shoes, bags and abayas without feeling crowded.
1. Go vertical
When floor space is limited, use height. A tall coat stand or corner rack holds coats, bags and keys on a small footprint. Corner pieces such as the BLANCA N and NOCTIS N turn an unused corner into storage.
2. Choose an all-in-one piece
A hall tree combines hooks, a bench and a shoe shelf in one unit, so you only need one piece of furniture. See the HAVEN and the RAVEN.
3. Give shoes a home
Shoes left by the door are the main source of clutter. A slim shoe rack or a shoe bench keeps them off the floor and gives you a place to sit while putting them on. Browse shoe racks and benches.
4. Add a mirror
A mirror makes a narrow entryway feel wider and lets you check your look before leaving. A full-length mirror works best if you have the wall; otherwise a round wall mirror such as the ORBEX above a console is a great option.
5. A slim console for keys and post
A narrow console table creates a drop zone for keys, wallets and sunglasses. Add a small tray so everything has its place. See console tables.
6. Keep a consistent color palette
Matching finishes (all black metal, or wood with gold accents) make several pieces look like one planned set instead of clutter.
7. Edit regularly
Keep only this season's shoes and coats in the entryway and store the rest elsewhere.
